What do you think about the future of antibody humanization?
Would we still have need for it two, three, five years from now? Would new humanized
animal strains and single-cell technologies make this art obsolete? From where
I stand it definitely looks like. If cloning antibodies from potent individuals
has or could have some legal and moral consequences, use of humanized animals
has not. The recently developed Omnirat is a huge step in this direction. Want
to know more - read the original paper in the Journal of Immunology, 190:1481,
2014.
